It seems probable that Davies was the author, as Davies wrote other historical works; Dancer did not. Title page in red and black. Title in double-lined border. Text and register continuous despite pagination. Decorative head-pieces, initial letters. Printed marginal notes. Pages 281, 222-227, 289-292 repeated between pages 292 and 293. With the bookplate signed Campo on the paste down front end-paper.
