This thesis examines the gothic traits of literary robots found in American science fiction short stories of the 1950s. Discussing stories by Ray Bradbury, Isaac Asimov, Margaret St. Clair, Robert Bloch, and Philip K. Dick, this thesis contributes to the scholarly discussion that gothic literary tradition influences the science fiction genre.
