This poster seeks to communicate the ways the Undergraduate Library Research Award (ULRA) not only spotlights superb research and writing by undergraduates, but also highlights the students’ own words to describe the value and benefits of the Libraries’ resources and services. The Objectives listed are: Using the evolution of ND’s ULRA as the example, session participants will be able to create * a research competition program at one’s home library based upon best practices, including how to: * describe a program that allows undergraduates to apply and compete fairly for top prizes; * identify and create campus partnerships to build the program * decide the deciders (of winners) * tout the winners Academic libraries are true partners in scholarship. Our library began the Undergraduate Library Research Award program as a way to recognize and celebrate excellent undergraduate research completed in all levels of coursework. The program is a partnership with the University’s Center for Undergraduate Scholarly Engagement and has continued to evolve since its inception in 2010. Through discussion of the program’s history, a review of our current information site, review of best practices and lessons learned, Laura Bayard and Mandy Havert will help you understand the vision of the ULRA program at the University of Notre Dame.
