Saint Amans, died 487, was the first bishop of Rodez. Built originally during the 12th century, Saint Amans church was entirely rebuilt between 1758 to 1761 using materials recovered from the ancient building. The exterior is Baroque, while the interior has remained Romanesque, including some preserved Romanesque capitals. The interior dome was decorated in the 18th century by Salinier. The tapestries from the 6th century hanging in the choir represent the miracles of Saint Amans. The church houses a 15th century 'pi\u00E8ta', 16th century statue of the Trinity and a relinquary jewel box in Limoges enamel.
