figure
posted on 2017-06-30, 00:00 authored by G. Massiot & cie
The episcopal palace, now used as a court house, was built in the 16th century, partly upon the Gallo-Roman fortifications. The decoration is a mix of Late Gothic and Renaissance. It was photographed (as a courthouse) by Eugene Atget in 1900. (The present episcopal residence is immediately to the north of the Cathedral and is modern.)
