Possibly the Louis Liard room, formerly Hall of doctorates.\u000a\u000aA new architectural competition, was won by a pupil of Charles Garnier, Henri-Paul Nénot in 1884. The New Sorbonne (completed 1901) consisted of faculty buildings extending the courtyard plan of the original site (including the chapel) and adding a new auditorium. Nénot demonstrated skill in planning and scale while using traditional French styles in an eclectic manner.
