It lies in the country's Luxembourg Province (Walloon region). The town is named in commemoration of Saint Hubert, whose thighbones were moved in 825 to the Benedictine Abbey of Andage (Andagium), thereafter called Abbey of Saint-Hubert. Saint Hubertus or Hubert (died 727) called the 'Apostle of the Ardennes' was the first Bishop of Li\u00E8ge. The church became a focus of pilgrimage after the translation of his bones in 825. The interior is Late Gothic.
