The Town Hall, begun in 1649, is one of Palma’s most important Mannerist works, showing clear Italian influence in the façade. The interior was restored in the 19th century. Originally, the building housed the judicial and executive board of the old Kingdom of Mallorca. In the 18th century, the Town Council of Palma inherited the building (and the furniture and paintings of the old Kingdom’s University). The architects are listed as Pere Bauçá, Miquel Oliver and Bartomeu Calafat.
