In his works, "Sustainable: Moving Beyond ESG to Impact Investing" and "Ending ESG and Restoring the Economic Enlightenment," the author argues that climate science must be depoliticized and more scientifically grounded. He critiques the assumption-driven nature of much climate science and the resulting uncertainty in climate policies. The author asserts that ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles are fundamentally flawed and should be abandoned. Instead, he advocates for a shift toward impact investing, which links values and value creation. He contends that ESG, despite its initial intentions, fails to address key economic and environmental challenges effectively. Drawing from diverse examples, he highlights the risks of focusing too much on ESG metrics and the need for policies that prioritize human welfare, economic growth, and long-term resilience. The author emphasizes a balanced approach that considers adaptation and mitigation alongside carbon reduction.
