The idea presented is to replace corn with oak trees as a feed substitute, aiming to tackle climate issues like carbon sequestration and erosion. Oak orchards, unlike annual crops, sequester significant amounts of CO2 and improve soil health. Acorns, rich in nutrients, could provide an alternative feed for livestock. With the potential for genetic modification through CRISPR, oak trees could offer a sustainable, profitable solution. The shift could mitigate climate impacts while supporting food and feed production.
