Notre Dame's German language and literature librarian Robert Kusmer describes his November 2002 trip with colleagues to four major German cities for the purpose of touring prominent libraries, publishing houses and other cultural institutions. Co-sponsored by the Goethe Institut-New York and Bibliothek und Information International, under the auspices of the Association of College and Research Libraries, West European Studies Section, the trip furthered his understanding of the commonalities of German and American publishing and librarianship.
