People-to-People (P2P) projects, where people from different ethnic and religious backgrounds participate in a program together, have been a component of the Conflict Management and Mitigation program of USAID in Israel/West Bank since 2004. The idea of these programs is that personal connections between opposing groups can promote better understanding and decrease the likelihood of violence. The short-term results of each program are evaluated consistently, but this is the first study designed to look at their lasting results on vested participants.
