The Colombian Final Accord to End the Armed Conflict and Build a Stable and Lasting Peace (Final Accord) was signed in 2016 by the Government of Colombia and the former Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia—People's Army (FARC-EP). As monitors of the accord through an official mandate, the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies released its seventh comprehensive report analyzing implementation of the accord through quantitative and qualitative analysis. This policy brief provides an overview of the sixth year of implementation (December 2021 - November 2022), noting the delays and lags that have occurred, and provides a comparative analysis of how the new president’s “Total Peace” policy can work in unison with the implementation of the Final Accord. The brief concludes with recommendations to reinvigorate peace accord implementation.
