SHARE HEIGHTS-FS (Higher Education Institutions Generating Holistic & Transferable Solutions - Financial Sustainability Kenya, Final Report
HEIGHTS (Higher Education Institutions Generating Holistic & Transferable Solutions) is a multicountry comparative study involving Kenya, Indonesia and the Philippines. HEIGHTS consists of two sister studies: HEIGHTS-FS (Financial Sustainability) and HEIGHTS-IE (Innovation Ecosystems). The purpose of HEIGHTS-FS is to produce evidence for improving sustainable financing of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) by analyzing approaches and risk management strategies that HEIs are pursuing to strengthen their financial sustainability. The study informs the United States Agency for International Development’s (USAID) “strategic planning, activity design, and professional development” in the area of sustainable financing for HEIs as noted within USAID’s Higher Education Learning Agenda. Evidence from this study will be used by key stakeholders including USAID, the Government of Kenya, (especially the Ministry of Education), and multilateral organizations funding higher education activities in low- and middle- income countries (LMICs).
