<p dir="ltr">The synthesis of technological progress and cultural tradition is essential for the healthy development of cities. Unmediated technological progress erodes the human scale within cities. Tradition naturally progresses, but a focus on the preservation of said cultural tradition stifles its natural innovation, hindering the healthy development and growth of a city. In Liverpool, the development group PEEL and UNESCO took diametrically opposed views, which both fail to address Liverpool’s needs now and in the future.</p>
