Video games have become a prominent mode of escapism among people today. For many, this relationship is invisible and confusing. For the past three years, I have been researching how video games are used as a means of escapism and their connection to historical means of escapism, mainly through photography. I create photographs of these video games through the use of historical photographic processes in order to illustrate and bring to light the ways in which this form of media is used for escapist means
