The potential of organo-Zintl chemistry has been known for several decades and the aim of this work is to expand on this groundwork. Contained in this dissertation are reaction pathways of the nine-atom germanium cluster with (i) a series of homo- and hetero-substituted alkynes, (ii) simple organic groups by suspension, and (iii) common nucleophilic reagents in the presence of partially oxidized cluster.
