Home is What I Make It

This project investigates the potential of the African-American home to be political by challenging notions of collective identity and hybridity. Through the context of prior political movements in the United States and the work of African-American artists and writers, this paper serves to locate contemporary artistic endeavors as they relate to identity construction.
