Il Sommo piacere' - The Crescendo of Love in the Commedia

My thesis explores the use of 'piacere' in the Commedia, and argues that there are the crescendo of 'piacere', the imitatio amoris, and the increase of the nuptial imagery which reflect the development of Italian lyric poetry and the importance of the Song of Songs to the Commedia.
