Monastic communities must have proper living accommodations and sacred spaces that encourage silence, solitude, and prayer, to better encounter God. In the Eastern Christian tradition, monastic spirituality is intended for the whole community of believers, not limited to the monastics. The living tradition of timber building in the Carpathian Mountains is essential to the spirituality of the Byzantine/Ruthenian Church and eastern liturgical functions. A new monastery building and church will support the nuns' ministries and the large community of Eastern Christians in the Eparchy of Parma.
