In this thesis, we addressed this material design problem by developing simultaneous process and material optimization frameworks for post-combustion and pre-combustion carbon capture processes to identify the optimal properties of AHAs for achieving the best process performance. We also developed rate-based process models for techno-economic evaluation of the optimized AHAs. The results will provide a system level insight for material scientists at the early stage of solvent design.
