Market centers throughout history have been the heart of the city. For centuries people of all ages, genders, ethnicities and nationalities have gone to markets to experience entertainment, food, shopping, trading and society. The significance of markets has to this effect been more than commerce; The market has been the heart of the traditional urban experience.
