Thesis explores the way to integrate Preservation with Sustainability in Historic Sites. Through the example of the Bailly Homestead (NRHP Code: 660000005) at Indiana Dunes National Park it is intended to analyze interactions between the need to preserve historic and architectural significance with wider strategies aiming at economic sustainability. Through this lens the thesis explores how restrictions imposed by building Codes and regulations can be combined with the need to revitalize through use a historic site of national importance.
