<p dir="ltr">The thesis addresses some of the challenges of rehabilitating two-part historic commercial brick and wooden buildings from the 1920s in Downtown South Bend, Indiana. Using the former Monarch Printing Building as a case study, it develops an illustrated handbook that provides a preliminary assessment approach and clear severity criteria for common forms of deterioration.</p>
