For an urban neighborhood to foster a strong sense of community and individual character both public and private spaces must be provided, which take cues from the local traditions. The project for a campus that is integrated with its neighborhood needs to accommodate urban sequences that balance the public and private realms that are reflective of Uptown’s daily life. The campus’ architectural character is meant to provide the proper sense of place within the neighborhood and city and large.
