    Extracellular vesicles (EVs) have been shown to carry microbial components and function in the host defense against infections.     Hamilton equations are such that the relation, between the coordinates and momenta at time t and at time t 0, is a contact transformation. Methods of integration of Hamilton equations, which do preserve the contact transformation property are given here. These methods are of first and second order.     A common computational problem is to compute topological information about a real surface defined by a system of polynomial equations. Our software, called polyTop, leverages numerical algebraic geometry computations from Bertini and Bertini_real with topological computations in javaPlex to compute the Euler characteristic, genus, Betti numbers, and generators of the fundamental group of a real surface.
