    Abstract:

    Two high nuclearity uranyl cages were crystallized in high yield under mild solvothermal conditions using rigid aryl phosphonate ligands. These compounds are prepared either through an in situ phosphonate ligand condensation reaction or via serendipitous assembly with a bulky phosphonate ligand.
