    Expression of urinary-type plasminogen activator (uPA) and its receptor (uPAR) is correlated with matrix proteolysis, cell adhesion, motility, and invasion. To evaluate the functional link between adhesion and proteolysis in gingival keratinocytes (pp126), cells were treated with immobilized integrin antibodies to induce integrin clustering.     This study describes the binding of plasminogen and tissue-type plasminogen activator (t-PA) to the extracellular matrix proteins fibronectin and laminin. Plasminogen bound specifically and saturably to both fibronectin and laminin immobilized on microtiter wells, with Kd(app) values of 115 and 18 nM, respectively.     Human lung mast cell tryptase is a trypsin-like serine proteinase that is stored in mast cell granules and released by activated mast cells.     Epidermal growth factor (EGF) activation of the EGF receptor (EGFR) is an important mediator of cell migration, and aberrant signaling via this system promotes a number of malignancies including ovarian cancer. We have identified the cell surface glycoprotein CDCP1 as a key regulator of EGF/EGFR-induced cell migration.
