Lusson's most important project was his design for the church of St Fran\u00E7ois-Xavier in Paris (1861-1864), which was completed in much modified form and on a reduced scale in 1877 by Fran\u00E7ois Uchard, who altered its original aiseless plan and substituted Italian Renaissance detailing for Lusson's Roman conception. This church was sited according to Haussmann's city plan, although the actual street layout has changed today.
