Final Outputs: Investigating the National Need for Library Based Topic Modeling Discovery Systems

The University of Notre Dame has been awarded a one-year Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) planning grant to assess the need for library-based machine learning and natural language processing tools to facilitate automated metadata creation and classification in support of cross-disciplinary discovery and research. These are the final outputs of the grant archived for preservation purposes. These materials are also accessible on the related OSF repository: https://osf.io/tmxqf/. There is also an associated white paper (https://curate.nd.edu/show/7d278s48s11) and a collection of essays (https://curate.nd.edu/show/7h149p32226). **There are six standalone files:** * Readme.txt file contains information about the grant's zip files on this record. * PI Address Investigating the National Need for Library Based Topic Modeling Discovery Systems Grant.pdf is a statement released by grant PI John Wang. * Topic-Modeling-Bibliography.pdf contains a bibliography of relevant literature available at the time of the grant. * LG-72-18-0221-18-preliminary-proposal.pdf is the initial proposal sent to IMLS. * LG-72-18-0221-18-full-proposal.pdf is the final proposal sent to, and eventually awarded by, IMLS. * thumbnail.jpg was the header image on the affiliated site, and is used as the thumbnail image for this record. **There are three zip files:** * Workshops Topic Modeling Discovery Systems.zip contains the presentations and agendas from the four workshops funded by this grant. * Survey instrument and responses.zip contains a PDF of the survey instrument and responses. * Team Meeting Minutes Topic Modeling Discovery Systems.zip contains the meeting minutes of the Notre Dame team.
