Research to Policy: A Long-Term Impact Evaluation of the Partnerships for Enhanced Engagement in Research Program
report
posted on 2022-05-09, 00:00 authored by Danice Guzman, Lila Khatiwada, Paul PerrinInvestment in scientific research in low- and middle-income countries has the potential to increase evidence generation, improve researcher capacity, and motivate policy change. However, the link between scientific research and longer-term outcomes such as policy change has not been rigorously tested. We need an improved understanding of how to link researchers and policymakers toward data-driven decision-making. This brief presents evidence from a mixed methods, medium- to long-term impact evaluation of USAID’s Partnerships for Enhanced Engagement in Research (PEER) program on research capacity, evidence generation, and translating research to policy.
